Fortnite gamers always take their grievances on social media every time there is a glitch. This is why hashtags like #FixFortnite and #RipFortnite keep showing up after every few months. When something great happens, for instance, a flawless update, then topics like #ThankYouEpicGames start trending.

The tags came up twice just recently, on March 26, 2021, and April 11, 2021. But this time something unusual happened. Two conflicting tags, #ThankYouEpicGames and #RipFortnite were trending on the same day. The gamers become divided, some appreciating Epic games while others still complaining about the glitches.

This article will look at Fortnite's glitches in detail and the steps Epic Games has taken so far.

Fortnite Bugs

It's common for server-dependent games such as Fortnite to experience glitches. Some are small issues that don't affect the gameplay, while others are annoying. Epic Games have dedicated a Twitter account and a Trills community board for collecting and addressing the bugs. Let us look at some of the common bugs in recent weeks.

1. Invisible wolves

Season six has embraced wildlife to make the game more fun. However, there is a new glitch that has got gamers talking. If you blow a vehicle up near a tame wolf, it will turn invisible instead of dying. You can use it as an advantage because others won't see the wolf coming. Besides being an in-game advantage, some players are not happy about the glitch.

The invisible glitch has also been discovered in separate sections of the game. For example, when a player porta-potty, the weapons turn invisible before they switch or exit. However, this glitch does not give the gamers any advantage like the invisible wolves.

2. Week 4 challenge progress issues

The week four challenge glitch was one of the major bugs reported. Players complained that quest was not tracking their progress properly on the week four challenge. It involves setting the structures on fire. Although they managed to set these structures on fire, the quest did not update the stats.

Epic games acknowledged the glitch via a tweet and stated that they were working on getting it fixed. On the following day, epic games said that players could track their progress using Trello cards to solve the quest issue on a future update.

3. Mouse and Keyboard prompt

Console gamers on the Trello Fortnite community board complained that they received mouse and Keyboard prompts. It isn't very pleasant to play on the console and get such PC prompts. However, the core team has labeled this issue as "investigating." Once the issue is confirmed, it will be fixed during the next update. Although this seems to be a small issue, some gamers can get very annoyed with such prompts.

4. Server downtime

Anytime there is an update, players experience downtime for a short while. But on April 13, during the release of episode 6, the update took longer than expected. This was because, Epic games released updates for PS, PC, Nintendo Switch, mobile, and Xbox at the same time. They had to take servers down to pave the way for the new release.

5. Door launch

This is a glitch that happens mostly in custom matches. Players have to build a structure in whatever way that pleases them, followed by a door in this glitch. Next, they have to stand next to the door and shut it. Upon doing so, the player is then launched across the map. The door launch glitch is considered fun by some players, while others think otherwise.

6. Broken pickaxe animations

Several uniquely animated pickaxes are not playing the intended animation when applied to save the world. Through their Trello community page, Epic games have acknowledged that they are aware of the issue and will continue fixing the incorrect animations.

  • Gladius of Potassius

  • Ol Mate Sledge

7. New Glyph Master

Season six comes with several glitches that have left Fortnite players complaining. After the release, many players are complaining that they cannot complete the Glyph Master Challenge. Another section of players even says that they are not able to unlock the challenge at all. Others can unlock Raz the Glyph Master but in XP styles which is very annoying.

The gamers are looking forward to seeing the issue fixed as it's preventing them from progressing. Epic Games has confirmed the issue and said that they are working on it.

8. Latest update performance regression

A Fortnite gamer has taken his grievance on Reddit about the latest update. This user says that the performance of the game has reduced significantly without any visual improvements. Even after using the same settings as before on an RTX 2070 + a 32GB ram, the performance was still down 20%.

Another user on the same subreddit confirmed that his performance went from 120 FPS to about 100 FPS ON a DX12. We can negotiate other issues, but action needs to be taken when it comes to performance.

Fortnite User statistics

Despite all the complaining around social media, Fortnite is still gaining a massive user base. It has more than 350 million registered accounts in 2021. The biggest part of the gamers (41%) comes from the United States. However, despite the large sum of user accounts, only about 78 million gamers are active on the platform every month.

According to Statista, 62.7% of the players are aged between 18-24. The user base is growing fast, especially among teenagers.

Final thoughts

There is no doubt that Fortnite is the most popular Royale battle game available right now. It has changed the way that we view the gaming industry. It was part of the revolution that accelerated most gaming careers. So many people participate in tournaments and take home thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Not to mention income from the streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.

Although Fortnite sometimes experiences glitches, Epic games always do their best to resolve them as quickly as possible. There will always be lovers and haters of the game, no matter how the development team does. Epic games deserve more love because of the huge impact that they have brought on the gaming industry.
