Halo show has been receiving a lot of mixed reactions ever since the idea was born. Now that it's released, the critics can't calm down from throwing shades left to right and center. TV shows based on games face a huge challenge of connecting with the game scenes and still manage to produce unforeseen circumstances. Initially, Halo was scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2021. But the pandemic slowed down the release, and it was pushed to 2022. It will hold nine episodes, about an hour long. Besides, Paramount hinted that it would be renewing the second season.

Not all fans have negative things to say about the show. Some showed up with two watches, the premiere in full gear. Twitter users were the most vocal in all matters pertaining to the halo show. This article will highlight everything you need to know about The Halo Show and fans' reactions.

The Master Cheif helmet reveal moment.

The helmet reveal

The Halo series producers decided to reveal Master Chief's real face in episode 1. It's a bold move from the producer which has sparked a heated debate on social media. However, they came out to defend the decision, which indeed makes sense. It can be difficult to take in for the fans that have played Halo for more than 20 years since Master Chief "John" has never revealed his identity. The producers, in an interview with Collider, said that it wasn't a decision they had from the beginning that the helmet had to come off. Rather, they wanted to focus on telling Master Chief's story. John as a character is not explored much in the games like in the Novels.

Kiki Wolfkill also revealed that it's so clear that we needed to see the person behind the helmet. This is because it's a new look at an evolution where John tries to understand his role as Master Chief and as a human at the same time. We also needed to see John outside of the suit physically and emotionally. Kane added that Season 1 is all about John discovering who he really is under the helmet. The helmet removal was not taken lightly where John just threw the helmet off. They had to create a wellspring that would help the rest of the episodes flow.

The writers wanted to base Halo on the books more than the games

The games do not give the character's personality fit for a TV show. That's the main reason why they wanted to base it more on the novel than the games. There is a high need for a story that fans can follow, which the game lacks. But the novels had a better chance of connecting more to the audience. The experience of Halo in games is far different from a TV show; hence they had to change the approach. This also explains the difference in Master Chief's tone. The discrete and mysterious sounds work for the games but not for the show. Besides, the producers of the show had to create a way to connect to the fans regardless of whether they were casual viewers or fans of the game.
