Just when we thought we have seen it all, indie developer David Cooper has released a Doom-themed dating simulator titled Doomed Love. In this quirky title, it appears you can romance up to three (not so evil) demons, and witness five different game endings. Unlike the game's inspiration, this developer announces zero violence as a unique feature for this universe.

We had the opportunity to speak with David Cooper on his latest release, here is what he has to say.

What inspired you to create this game?
I did some Doom fan art a wee while back and one person commented how they loved the art, but they'd tried playing Doom and it made them anxious. I jokingly said to them how I'd put these 'cuter' monsters in a dating sim - not really intending to make it. But then the idea just seemed so good in my head, and it kind of grew from there.

How long did it take you to make this game?
About a month, maybe a little longer. I had to make it when I wasn't doing my full-time job or watching my son, so it was solid work in evenings and weekends, but luckily the Ren'Py software was really easy to use.

Do you have other games or projects you're working on?
No other games at the moment, but I am always drawing things, often comics, over on my Twitter/Instagram. I did a short comic about Lenny from the Simpsons earlier this year, people really seemed to like that one, I'd recommend people check that out.

Doomed Love seems to be boding well among itch.io users, as one raving review indicates:

I'm almost 30 and I have no shame to be playing this. The first time I played Doom was on the SNES port and even though it looked hideous it hooked me up real hard and I gotta say... this is amazing.

Pick up Doomed Love today at your chosen price! Available on itch.io here.
